FDA-approved in 2003, this versatile filler can restore a smooth appearance to everything from fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, nose and lips to filling flaccid earlobes and revolumizing the areola and nipple. Restylane’s restorative properties can actually prolong the effects of Botox, when used in conjunction.
With the highest patient satisfaction rate of any soft tissue filler, Restylane gradually stimulates the body’s collagen production. Results are immediate and last six-12 months.
Restylane Silk one of Restylane’s newer products. The hyaluronic-acid based injectable is approved for plumping lips and filling wrinkles around the mouth (also known as smokers’ lines or perioral rhytids), and bags under the eyes. In the study that led to the FDA’s approval of Restylane Silk, fully 98 percent of participants reported an improvement in lip fullness two weeks after treatments, with 76 percent still showing such fullness six months after their injection. According to manufacturer Valeant, Restylane Silk results last for at least six months. Treatment time ranges from 30 minutes to one hour.
Restylane® Lyft is thew latest addition to the Restylane family. It was recently approved by the FDA for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21.
